The site for this fountain is a backyard that opens to Camelback Mountain. Because of the unobstructed view of the mountain, a tall piece would have been distracting and looked out of place. Since the clients are avid bird watchers, they wanted the piece to be "bird friendly" and attract them to the site. Falling Water nestles into a niche created by two large granite bounders that were already there. A small pool under the stone catches the water as it falls, and a shelf half an inch below the water level on the right side serves as a birdbath.
